Port wine is a Portuguese fortified wine produced in the Douro Valley of northern Portugal. It is typically a sweet red wine, often served with or as dessert.
Because Portugal has international trademark rights to the Port name- the grapes must be grown and fermented in Portugal for the Port name to be used.
As a result we call our version Dessert Wine. We are offering a Ruby Port Style which has brighter characteristics than the Tawny Port version.
The Après Dessert Wine used to be a GVI regular stock item but is now available only as a Limited Release. Ruby Port wines sell for $19- $25 at Manitoba Liquor Mart stores.
